ENTRY INTO POLITICS

In 1983 Musyoka unsuccessfully vied for the Kitui North Constituency parliamentary seat after which he started his law firm, Musyoka and Company Advocates. He, however, remained interested in elective politics.

Following the death of the Member of Parliament for Kitui North constituency in 1985, Musyoka contested and won comfortably with 12,000 votes beginning his long career in elective politics. In the same year, he was elected Secretary of the ruling party, the Kenya African National Union (KANU) in Kitui District Branch.

In 1985, Musyoka married his long time girl friend, Pauline, after a long courtship. They first met at a school Christian camp at Alliance High School, while Pauline was in her second year of high school. Together they have four children.
