Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka has traveled

2005 – Elected
President of the United Nations Convention
to Combat Desertification (UNCCD).

2003 – Elected
Rapporteur of the African Union (AU)
in Maputo, Mozambique.

2003 – Chaired
and spearheaded peace initiatives with
the framework of IGAD Peace Processes
in Sudan and Somalia.
-
2003 – Attended
the US National Prayer Breakfast in
Washington D.C.
-
2003 – Addressed
the UN General Assembly in New York
regarding the Peace Process in Sudan.
-
2001 – As
Minister for Tourism and Information,
addressed the 14th Session of the World
Tourism Organization General Assembly
and later the Millennium Conference
held in Seoul, South Korea and Osaka,
Japan, respectively.
-
1997 – As
Minister for Foreign Affairs and International
Cooperation, under the stewardship of
the late Mwalimu Julius Nyerere, he
dealt with the crisis in Burundi.

1994 – As
Minister for Foreign Affairs and International
Cooperation, he addressed the 61st Ordinary
session of OAU Council of Ministers
– Addis Ababa. He also addressed
the UN General Assembly, during the
49th Session.

1993 – As
Minister for Foreign Affairs and International
Cooperation, he addressed the Organization
of African Union (OAU) Council of Ministers
in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. It was the
57th Ordinary Session of the OAU Council
of Ministers facilitating mechanism
of conflict prevention, management and
resolution in the Great Lakes Region.

1993 – As
Minister for Foreign Affairs and International
Cooperation, he addressed the World
Conference on Human Rights in Austria.
The host country was elected the President
and he was elected the Vice President
of the forum.
-
1993 – As
Minister for Foreign Affairs and International
Cooperation, addressed the UN General
Assembly on the 5th October, 1993 in
New York. In his address he highlighted
the conflict in Somalia, and the role
of the United Nations in tackling the
conflict. He assured the Assembly that
Kenya could spearhead the peace talks
in Somalia and would continue to cooperate
with UNHCR to facilitate voluntary accommodation
and repatriation of refugees and in
handling the refugee crisis.
-
1992 – As
Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly
he addressed the United States Congressional
Sub-Committee on African Affairs in
the US (under the chairmanship of Mr.
Mervyn Dymally of the US Congress).
